FOR WHAT PURPOSE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE LARCH BOARDS?
Larch planks are a wood product that is produced on machine saws by longitudinally cutting individual trunks from felled trees. It is used as a building or joinery material. A larch plank is similar to a larch plank, which is thicker than a plank, larch planks have a maximum thickness of 38mm.
LET THE HEALING EFFECTS OF LARCH AFFECT YOU
Larch resin has been used since time immemorial against coughs , externally for ear infections . “Venetian turpentine” obtained from wood was used in folk medicine externally for rubbing in nerve pain , internally for stomach and intestinal problems or gall bladder and kidney colic . Crushed bark for external use in the treatment of skin diseases , needles boiled in vinegar for toothache.
When the resin from Larch wood evaporates, it strengthens our natural defenses and its scent is suitable wherever it is necessary to disinfect a space. It cleanses and strengthens the respiratory tract, helping with colds, bronchitis and sinusitis.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIBERIAN LARCH AND EUROPEAN LARCH?
Siberian Larch and European Larch come from the same scientific classification: class Conifers, order Pinaceae, family Pinaceae, genus Larch. The second botanical name for larch always identifies its place of occurrence, i.e. origin – European Larch grows in Europe and Siberian Larch grows mainly in Russia in the Siberian region, but also in Mongolia and China. This means that they are a tree of the same genus, with the same composition of resin resistant to mold, fungi and UV radiation. It is true that Siberian Larch grows in a harsher climate, so it grows more slowly and has better structural properties. It is also true that due to its growth in harsher climatic conditions, it has a slightly higher resin content, which makes the wood resistant to mold, fungi and UV radiation that decompose the wood cell of Larch, but not more than 10-15%.
From the above information and our long-term experience, it follows that the difference between European Larch and Siberian Larch in its lifespan is approximately 10-15%, so you don’t have to worry about using Larch from our Czech forests for your exterior project at a significantly more reasonable price.
We process and supply material from European Larch from the Kokořínsko, Křivoklátsko, Brdy and Jeseníky regions , therefore we are sure that due to its quality, thanks to the origin of the wood from this location with suitable substrate for the growth of these trees, high-quality technological production process and proper storage of finished products, we are able to supply you with the material in the design in which you wish to complete your project.
Larch boards processed in this way are therefore sought after for the production of wooden terraces, wood cladding, wooden floors, larch fences, pergolas, gazebos and garden furniture, planed larch boards, floor, terrace, cladding, larch board for fence, for facade, for terrace, for floor, planed terrace board, floor, cladding.
We also produce larch boards with a natural edge as untrimmed. Larch boards can be used and built directly into wooden structures, even after drying, planing, brushing, etc. At the customer’s request, we can supply planed, sanded, milled edges into a radius.
Larch planks have a very nice appearance, color and beautiful distinctive pattern. Larch board lumber cut from the center wood, sorted by width. We produce boards of the same or different widths from 80mm to 300mm to order according to the requirements and needs of each structure. The largest possible sawn board width is 500mm, if the diameter of the larch log is sufficient.
Larch planks are also very suitable for exterior use where they have a very long service life even without surface treatment. The resin contained in larch is contained in such large quantities that the wood is naturally impregnated and resistant to water and weather conditions.

WHAT LARCH BOARDS WE CAN MAKE?
Freshly cut (cut) larch boards with unspecified moisture content
The disadvantage of using unprocessed lumber can be a high water content and subsequent volume changes and deformations when drying to equilibrium moisture. Higher water content can also be problematic in terms of increased risk of attack by wood-destroying insects, molds and fungi, but this is to a small extent in the case of oak, as larch is resistant to these attacks.
When purchasing raw lumber, it is a good idea to choose the right quality for the type of use. Generally speaking, center-grained lumber, ideally radial, without any pith content, will be the strongest and most stable.
On the other hand, installing elements made of undried wood containing pulp can cause undesirable effects in the form of twisting, drying cracks, etc.
This product of basic sawmilling does not lose its popularity in traditional carpentry constructions, where a relatively wide range of cross-sectional dimensions is used – exterior constructions, larch boards in the garden, raised beds and others.

Technically dried, planed larch boards
The profiles are made from technically dried larch lumber with guaranteed humidity (exterior usually 15% ±3%, interior 10% ±2%). Center lumber, ideally radial without pith content, will be the strongest and most stable and is the primary cut of the log, care is taken to cut through the pith (center of the trunk). This guarantees higher dimensional stability.
Four-sided planing or sanding and chamfered edges are a matter of course for kiln-dried planks.
To produce larch joinery boards, logs are used, in order, the first and second pieces from the bottom of the tree with a smaller number of cut branches (knots) and minimal curvature.
We will be happy to advise you on choosing the right material…

ARE LARCH BOARDS SUITABLE FOR CONSTRUCTING TERRACES?
A larch terrace made of larch planks as a transitional space between the interior and the exterior is now much more than just a fashion trend: it symbolizes an entire lifestyle. Built from natural and timeless wood, it becomes a place of comfort and hospitality. Even in the hottest hours of the day, the south-facing terrace allows you to walk comfortably barefoot. It withstands rain and snow year after year and is easy to clean.
Whether the wood is oiled and carefully maintained or weathered over time, the options and styles are many, but the emotion remains the same… a calm, noble material that quietly changes and becomes more beautiful as time passes.
CHOOSE FOR THE SUPERIORITY OF LARCH WOOD
Many balconies and terraces are not adapted to leisure space and are barely used! It is with this in mind that solid wooden structures that are easy to live with offer all the advantages.
QUALITY AND LONGEVITY
Larch is a very popular wood for making terraces. Larch wood is very durable and copes well with weather fluctuations. Larch has a high resin content, which significantly helps to ensure higher resistance to external climatic conditions.
Larch is a great alternative as a building material for a sustainable larch deck. It is a very durable and semi-hard wood in its natural properties. Larch contains natural preservatives such as resins and minerals. In flooring, the good properties of larch are emphasized by its hardness and density. Larch decks do not need to be surface treated like other conifers, as the material can withstand UV radiation and moisture. However, the wood will turn gray over the years. Remember that during the graying process, the tone of the deck surface may be uneven. However, the overall appearance of larch is light and can be darkened if necessary.
Wooden larch decking boards are more than easy to assemble, which is why we can offer you larch decking in the form of selling the larch decking boards and base beams themselves.
Outdoor wooden structures require precise construction methods to withstand time and weather, which is why we will manufacture and deliver larch decking boards on a turnkey basis.

HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR LARCH BOARDS?
Proper care of larch planks is key to their longevity and weather resistance. Here are the main steps and recommendations for effective maintenance.
Preparation before painting
Cleanliness and Drying : Before applying any coating, it is important to thoroughly clean the boards. Use water and a brush or wood cleaner to remove dirt and dust. The boards should be dry before applying the oil.
Weathering : Larch wood should be allowed to weather for several weeks before applying paint. This is especially true for newly purchased planks, to reduce moisture and improve paint adhesion.
Humidity control : Make sure the internal moisture content of the wood does not exceed 15%. This is crucial for the successful application of protective coatings.
Choosing a coating material
Oil coatings : Oil coatings that penetrate the wood structure and provide protection from the inside are best suited for larch wood. Oils such as TOP UV oil or BSP top glaze are recommended for their biodegradability and ability to not peel off.
Biocidal impregnation : Before applying oil, it is a good idea to perform biocidal impregnation using products such as DERON or IMPRALIT, which help protect the wood from fungi and pests.
Paint application
Temperature and weather : Application should be carried out at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C, avoid direct sunlight and rain.
Applying oil : Apply the oil in a thin layer in the direction of the wood grain using a brush or roller. If you plan to apply multiple coats, wait for the first coat to dry (usually 12-24 hours) before applying the second.
Removing excess oil : After 15-30 minutes of application, wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth to prevent the surface from sticking.
Maintenance after painting
Regular maintenance : It is recommended to regularly check the condition of the terrace, sweep it and wash it with soapy water for wooden terraces. This will remove dirt and extend the life of the coating.
Preventive measures : Avoid the accumulation of coarse dirt and stones that can mechanically damage the terrace surface.
CAN LARCH BOARDS CURVE AFTER APPLICATION?
Larch planks may show warping after application and installation, especially if they are not sufficiently dried. This phenomenon is caused by the volume changes of the wood that occur during drying and equalizing the humidity with the surrounding environment.
Factors affecting the twisting of larch planks
Wood moisture : Freshly cut larch boards with a high water content are more prone to warping and twisting once they start to dry to equilibrium moisture. If the boards are technically dried, they have a lower risk of twisting.
Lumber quality : Using core lumber without pulp ensures greater stability and resistance to deformation. On the contrary, untreated wood or wood with pulp can lead to undesirable effects such as cracks and warping.
Installation conditions : Warping can also occur due to differences in conditions between the inside and outside of the structure if the wood is glued in layers with different moisture contents.
Treatment and maintenance : Proper maintenance and treatment of larch planks can help minimize the risk of warping. For example, the use of impregnation or oils can improve the stability of the wood.
To minimize the risk of larch planks warping after application, it is recommended to use technically dried materials and to observe proper installation and maintenance conditions.
